I just got back from vacation in Ocean City, MD. It was touch and go that I would go because of COVID-19 and the impending tropical storm. I wasn’t sure what I would see until I got to Ocean City. It was like there was no pandemic at all in some parts of the town as I drove down Coastal Highway to my hotel.
Here are some things I learned from this vacation:
Summertime is my big chance to read. It’s probably because I like to sit by the pool and go to the beach. When I used to have a personal blog, I used to always post the books I was planning to read during the summer. Now, it’s time to bring back that tradition.
Things have been stressful for me both personally and professionally for the past few months. Not to mention, I have a milestone birthday this summer. It all added up to me taking time off the summer. It’s the second summer in a row for those of you playing at home.
The beach lets me stop and reflect on a few things:
One of the benefits of pivoting back to full-time employment is taking time off. I recently spent an entire week at the beach. It was the first time I took that sort of time off on my own accord. My destination was Ocean City, MD, the mandatory vacation of my childhood.
