I’m a tech writer and content strategist focused on the cloud and DevOps based in the Northern Virginia area. This is my personal blog, Right now, I’m using it to burn some of my extra free time during self-isolation because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
By day, I’m a technical writer on a cloud team building a cloud brokerage for the United States Navy. I also write about the cloud and DevOps for TechTarget. Prior to that, I wrote about enterprise mobility and BYOD for CNET TechRepublic.
My career as a technical writer with its ups and downs was full of great experiences working in telecommunications, cable broadband, internet service, cybersecurity, and industries developing technical documentation, online help, and training to support product launches and internal initiatives. Projects in recent years have focused more on thought leadership and strategy including white papers, marketing collateral, and go-to-market content for cloud management and migration services.
Along the way, I developed personal interests around enterprise collaboration, mobile devices, and work management tools. I pride myself on coming up to speed on my own to tackle new writing topics. Over the past few years, I pivoted from writing about enterprise mobility to writing about the cloud and DevOps.
For fun back in pre-COVID-19 times, I used to do circuit training at the gym for fun. It has taken me more than a month to come up with an exercise routine for home. Staying busy and passing the time are priorities for me now that I’m self-isolating. Having fun is something I need to reassess when things get back to a sense of normalcy.
