Throughout my career, I’ve focused on helping people and organizations make sense of complex technologies, translating innovation into actionable strategies. From cloud FinOps to DevOps and enterprise mobility, I’ve developed a knack for connecting technical solutions to real-world needs. But as I think about the future, I see an opportunity to apply these skills to a rapidly evolving space: artificial intelligence.

My recent experience with Policy Writing Buddy, a generative AI-based tool I created, brought this realization into sharper focus. The project was a breakthrough moment for me—it wasn’t just about creating a tool but about developing processes for integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into real-world workflows. What made it especially challenging was the speed at which I had to work. Often, I had to learn the intricacies of generative AI features just days—sometimes hours—before introducing them to a client. It was a crash course in adaptability, innovation, and practical AI application.

That experience reinforced something I’ve seen throughout my career: The true value of technology lies in how it’s applied. For Policy Writing Buddy to succeed, I needed to balance technical functionality with the user experience, ensuring the tool addressed real client pain points while being accessible and intuitive. It was a clear example of how AI strategy isn’t just about understanding the technology—it’s about aligning it with people, processes, and outcomes.

This approach has always been a throughline in my work. At GDIT, I aligned technical solutions with customer priorities, translating complex technologies into practical narratives that drive buy-in. As a writer and content strategist, I’ve learned to position solutions in ways that resonate with diverse audiences, from developers to executives. And my work on senior care technology and DevOps adoption has shown me the importance of balancing innovation with accessibility and ethics.

Now, I’m thinking about how to bring all these experiences together to pursue a career as an AI Strategist. The role would allow me to focus on the intersection of technology and business strategy, helping organizations unlock AI’s potential responsibly and effectively.

To make this transition, I’ll need to continue building on the skills I developed during the Policy Writing Buddy project—rapidly learning new AI tools, designing processes that scale, and staying ahead of trends in AI adoption. It’s a challenge I’m ready to take on, and one that feels like a natural evolution of my career.

AI strategy isn’t just about deploying technology—it’s about aligning it with real-world goals and creating opportunities that didn’t exist before. As I consider this next step, I’m excited by the chance to shape how AI impacts businesses, industries, and lives, bringing both my technical knowledge and my storytelling skills to the forefront of this transformative field.
